چکیده

In the integration of geodetic networks with different geodetic coordinate systems, the similarity transformation seems to be the most suitable method because the geodetic coordinate systems are designated to be Cartesian (orthogonal). However, this method may always not be practical to use in most surveying works demanding such high accuracies as the coordinates used in the transformation are distorted. In this case, methods alternative to well-known similarity transformations can be considered for the integration of geodetic networks with other systems. However, in this paper, the collocation method is introduced into the similarity transformation instead of applying an alternative method. Thus, not only can more appropriate transformation parameters be easily computed, but also the distortions in coordinates can be modeled. For this purpose a case study employing this strategy is also included and its results are analyzed and interpreted. 2005 Elsevier Inc. All rights reserved.

Geoid Determination Based on Log Sigmoid Function of Artificial Neural Networks: (A case Study: Iran)

A Back Propagation Artificial Neural Network (BPANN) is a well-known learning algorithmpredicated on a gradient descent method that minimizes the square error involving the networkoutput and the goal of output values. In this study, 261 GPS/Leveling and 8869 gravity intensityvalues of Iran were selected, then the geoid with three methods “ellipsoidal stokes integral”,“BPANN”, and “collocation” ...

A spline collocation method for integrating a class of chemical reactor equations

. In this paper, we develop a quadratic spline collocation method for integrating the nonlinear partial differential equations (PDEs) of a plug flow reactor model. The method is proposed in order to be used for the operation of control design and/or numerical simulations. We first present the Crank-Nicolson method to temporally discretize the state variable. Then, we develop and analyze the pro...

Iterative Methods for Scalable Uncertainty Quantification in Complex Networks

In this paper we address the problem of uncertainty management for robust design, and verification of large dynamic networks whose performance is affected by an equally large number of uncertain parameters. Many such networks (e.g. power, thermal and communication networks) are often composed of weakly interacting subnetworks. We propose intrusive and non-intrusive iterative schemes that exploi...

Iranian Permanent GPS Network Receivers Differential Code Biases Estimation Using Global Ionospheric Maps

Measurements of the dual frequency Global Positioning System (GPS) receivers can be used to calculate the electron density and the total electron content (TEC) of the ionosphere layer of the Earth atmosphere. TEC is a key parameter for investigating the ongoing spatial and temporal physical process of the ionosphere. For accurate estimation of TEC from GPS measurements, GPS satellites and GPS r...

Analysis of a collocation method for integrating rapidly oscillatory functions

A collocation method for approximating integrals of rapidly oscillatory functions is analyzed. The method is efficient for integrals involving Bessel functions J,.(rx) with a large oscillation frequency parameter r, as well as for many other oneand multi-dimensional integrals of functions with rapid irregular oscillations. The analysis provides a convergence rate and it shows that the relative ...
